Poetry – Nature Watch

Nature Watch

The winter sun’s dappled rays struggle

through the canopy of leaves,

to warm the earth below,

Grackles chatter about their day,

squeaking like rusty hinges,

and all the while under their nose,

the squirrels raid the feeder.
